Thanks to its international connections, short travel times, compact city centre and wide range of hotels and venues, Frankfurt is the ideal destination for business trips and events of all kinds.
However, Frankfurt has more to offer than just its reputation as a conference and business hub. A diverse range of cultural and leisure activities can easily be combined with business appointments. Whether you have four to five hours, a whole day or a long weekend, you can explore the city in an authentic and multifaceted way.
Top attractions such as the Römer, the Imperial Cathedral and the renowned Museum Embankment are all within walking distance of each other. Trendy cafés, galleries and concept stores invite you to linger in between.
Frankfurt RheinMain has also been awarded the title of 'World Design Capital' this year. Over the coming months, various projects will explore how design can transform our society, and how we can use it to shape our everyday lives and democracy.
Still looking for things to do while you’re in Frankfurt? Look no further!
Over the long Whitsun weekend, right after IMEX, we celebrate 'Wäldchestag', our Frankfurt Forest Festival. From 22–26 May, people of all ages gather in Frankfurt's city forest to enjoy fairground rides, music and more. Join the forest party after work in one of the beer gardens or enjoy a glass of wine in the shade at the weekend. It's the perfect way to experience Frankfurt's nature and traditions first-hand!
If you are curious about our culinary traditions, apple wine is one of them. It is best enjoyed in one of the traditional apple wine pubs, or on hot days alongside the banks of the River Main. The most traditional apple wine pubs can be found in Sachsenhausen, south of the river. After a successful day of meetings and networking, they offer you the chance to unwind in a cosy atmosphere. For those of you who want to trade the river for a view from higher up, you’ll find what you’re looking for at one of Frankfurt’s many rooftop bars.
If you’d like to spend a little more time marvelling at Frankfurt’s art and culture after a successful day, there are plenty of options. Within the city limits, there are 39 museums and cultural institutions to choose from, most of which are located on the famous Museum Embankment.
With our Frankfurt Congress Card, you can explore the city at your leisure. It offers discounts at numerous museums, attractions, leisure providers and shops throughout the city. Usually, our Frankfurt Congress Card can only be purchased by congress and conference organisers, but as a test run, you can pick up your own one for free at our FrankfurtRhineMain booth B120 during IMEX this year.
