Business Events Sydney (BESydney) welcomes today’s important milestone for Western Sydney International Airport with tickets now on sale for daily, direct flights with Singapore Airlines starting from November 2026. This inaugural international service marks Western Sydney’s emergence as a new international gateway for Australia.
For the business events sector, Singapore Airlines’ services at Nancy-Bird Walton Airport provides greater certainty and confidence in Sydney’s future international air access — a critical factor when bidding for and planning major global conferences several years in advance.
BESydney’s CEO, Amanda Lampe said, “Improved international air connectivity into Western Sydney is a significant enabler for the region’s visitor economy growth and global engagement. Singapore Airlines’ announcement reinforces Western Sydney International Airport’s role as a new international gateway, strengthening access to Sydney for business events, visitors and investment from key global markets.
For the business events sector, direct connections into Western Sydney will start to unlock new opportunities for conferences, corporate meetings and incentives, while supporting the region’s emerging precincts, jobs and visitor economy. This is an important step in building Western Sydney’s position as a competitive and compelling destination for international business events.”
The ticket sale milestone comes as Sydney prepares for a strong pipeline of largescale international business events from 2027 onwards, spanning priority sectors such as technology, health and medical research, engineering, space, advanced manufacturing and professional services.
These global conferences attract thousands of international delegates, researchers, industry leaders and decision makers to New South Wales, delivering long-term economic impact, knowledge exchange, trade relations and investment benefits.
“The announcement further strengthens Sydney’s business events proposition, with Western Sydney playing an increasingly important role in welcoming international delegates, supporting event activity, and showcasing the region’s growing industry base and economic potential”, Ms Lampe said.

BESydney looks forward to continuing to work with the NSW Government, industry partners and its members to unlock the full potential of Western Sydney as a business events destination. As a critical growth region for the state, Western Sydney will play an important role in supporting the NSW Government’s Visitor Economy Strategy and its ambition to reach $91 billion in annual visitor expenditure by 2035.
