OSAKA International Convention Subsidyhas opened applications for conventions held from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2033. Qualifying conventions may receive up to 30 million Japanese yen. This subsidy aims to increase the number of international conferences within Osaka prefecture, particularly in fields where Osaka has strengths in addition to those that encourage innovation and industrial competitiveness. Applicants must go through a Japanese representative/association etc. of the applying convention. Some of the additional requirements to apply include:
The convention must
・be held for at least three days
・have a total of 50 or more participants (of which 20 or more must be non-Japanese living abroad)
・be represented by three or more countries/regions including Japan
・host at a facility within Osaka Prefecture
・align with any of the following industries or themes:
1) Any of Osaka's primary fields, including life sciences, craftsmanship, environment and energy, international finance, sports, gastronomy, or entertainment
2) Themes that generate innovation or contribute to bolstering the competitive power of industries in Osaka
